Olivia Colace of Los Altos and Josh Gefkin of Mountain View have been cast in Peninsula Youth Theatre’s “Check Please!”

Peninsula Youth Theatre’s production of “Check Please!” – three one-act comedies by Jonathan Rand showcasing the challenges of dating in 2019 – is scheduled this weekend at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, SecondStage, 500 Castro St.

The first act follows a series of blind dinner dates that could not get any worse – until they do. One person is set up with a raging kleptomaniac, another with his grandmother’s bridge partner and another with a mime.

The second act follows a former couple forced back into the dating pool by their best friends, only to find the pool teeming with foot-reading psychics, frustrated poly-gamists and extreme accountants.

The final act features the same former couple as they try to maintain a friendship while looking for the perfect partner.

Karen Simpson directs actors Anisya Malinovskaya, Ash Prodromou, Ben Rogers, Caitlyn Devenney, Charlie Kowal, Chloe Burcell, Ellie Schwartz, Hannah Kitamura, Jamie Penilla, Josh Gefkin, Kyla Schwarzbach, Lizzy Kundrat, Naomi Eason, Olivia Colace, Sami Jones, Sophie Lyons, Spencer Cook and Theo Gardiner.

Shows are slated 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $17.
