Local student directors guide 4th annual one-act play festival

Four area students direct vignettes from Neil Simon’s “The Good Doctor” in the fourth annual High School One-Act Play Festival, scheduled 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, SecondStage, 500 Castro St.

Directors include Braden Koch (Los Altos High School), Sam Evans (Mountain View High School), Swati Goel (Gunn High School) and Aubrie Ferris (Woodside High School). Each of them was assigned a mentor for one-on-one professional guidance throughout the process.

The actors and crewmembers also attend area high schools.

Set during the Jazz Age of the 1920s, the mostly comic piece is based on short stories and other works by Anton Chekhov.
