Last 'Frost' approaches

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley’s production of “Frost/Nixon,” directed by Leslie Martinson, is set to close Sunday at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

Based on a true story, the play reveals the conflicts between former U.S. President Richard Nixon and British talk-show host David Frost during a series of TV interviews that illustrate the media’s influence on the national consensus.

The drama features Jeremy Webb as Frost and Allen McCullough as Nixon. Other cast members include Adam Shonkwiler, Kenny Toll, Stephen Muterspaugh, Patrick Russell, Adam J. Saucedo, Craig Marker and Alicia Piemme Nelson.

Since its debut in London in 2006, “Frost/Nixon” has earned Tony and Olivier award nominations, and the movie adaptation received five Academy Award nominations.

Performances are slated 7:30 p.m. today, 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday.
