Singer Milo performs at Pear this weekend

Pear Flambé Cabaret continues this weekend with Diane Milo’s “With a Little Help from My Friends.” Performances are slated 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Pear Theatre, 1110 La Avenida St., Mountain View.

Milo’s installment of Pear’s new cabaret series recognizes her 24 years of theater in the Bay Area. Milo will be joined on stage by a dozen local singers with whom she has worked: Alicia Teeter, Mary Melnick, Molly Thornton, Karyn Rondeau, Hayley Lovgren, Walter Mayes, Mike Rhone, James Creer, Michael Hirsch, Karen DeHart, Michael Johnson and Barbara Reynolds.

Two local pianists, Bob Sunshine and Brad Handshy, will accompany them. Sunshine has worked with South Bay Musical Theatre, Peninsula Youth Theatre and West Valley Light Opera; Handshy has performed with South Bay Musical Theatre, West Valley Light Opera and Broadway by the Bay.

Milo has been singing professionally for more than 40 years as both a solo artist and in a variety of performing groups, including pop/rock bands, vocal jazz quartets, big bands and other music ensembles. Additionally, she has amassed 100 theatrical credits, both as director and performer, most of which have been with theater companies throughout the Bay Area over the past 24 years.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
