Peninsula Youth Theatre presents “The Elves and the Shoemaker,” the latest production in its Stories on Stage series, this weekend in Mountain View.

The world-premiere production – adapted from the classic folk tale especially for PYT by Karen Simpson Gardiner – is about two elves sent to help a poor shoemaker turn his luck around.

The cast includes Olivia Cobb, Cara Davidson, Liam Devenney, Caitlin Devenney, Nitzan Hod, Hunter McDivitt, Derron Mendel, Emma O’Neill, Jamie Penilla, Arielle Perrochon, Brevin Reed, Sienna Seiders, Olivia Spreen and Minghan Xu. Caitlyn DeRouin directs.

The Stories on Stage series is a repertory company of some of PYT’s most experienced teen actors that presents children’s fiction, fairy tales and poetry, often in adaptations written especially for PYT. The professionally directed shows are black-box productions that run 40 minutes.

Performances of “Shoemaker” are slated 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, SecondStage, 500 Castro St.

Tickets are $12.
