TheatreWorks Silicon Valley brings back “The Santaland Diaries,” which proved popular with audiences last year, for a three-week run at Foothill College.
The comedy is scheduled to preview today and Thursday, open Friday and run through Dec. 23.
Written by David Sedaris and adapted by Joe Mantello, “Santaland” is the story of an ill-equipped elf forced to confront child meltdowns, overbearing parents and complacent Santas.
The one-man show stars Max Tachis, reprising his role in last year’s production. Jeffrey Lo returns as director of “Diaries.”
Sedaris’ international career as a memoirist took off when he recounted – in an essay he first read on NPR’s “Morning Edition” in 1992 – his short tenure at Macy’s as Crumpet the Elf.
Performances are scheduled 8 p.m. Tuesdays (after this week) through Fridays, 3 and 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 3 p.m. Sundays in the Lohman Theatre at Foothill, 12345 S. El Monte Road.
Tickets are $45; discounts are available to students and subscribers.
