Peninsula Youth Theatre’s production of “Beauty and the Beast” is set to open Saturday and run through March 11 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.
The production is a full-length musical based on Disney’s animated classic about Belle, who sacrifices her freedom to save her father, becoming the captive of the Beast who dwells in an enchanted castle.
Director and choreographer Brian Miller performed in PYT’s first production of the musical in 2005. Holly Smolik provides vocal direction.
The cast includes Rachel Troyer of Los Altos Hills and Michael Tucker of Mountain View.
Shows are scheduled 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and March 10, 1 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday, 9:30 a.m. March 8, 9:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. March 9 and 1 p.m. March 11.
