Los Altos Stage Company's '1984' continues run at Bus Barn Theater

Los Altos Stage Company’s adaptation of George Orwell’s “1984,” considered one of the 20th century’s most important pieces of literature is scheduled to run through Feb. 18 at Bus Barn Theater, 97 Hillview Ave.

Adapted by local playwright Michael Gene Sullivan, “1984” follows Winston Smith, who lives in a world perpetually at war with unseen forces. Personal electronic devices are used to spy on the populace and facts are manipulated or simply erased.

The cast includes Geoff Fiorito, Filip Hofman, Keith Larson, Britney Mignano, Ben Ortega and Anthony Stephens. Jenny Hollings- worth directs the Los Altos Stage Company production, supported by Ting-na Wang (scenic design), Sharon Peng (costume design), Sean Kramer (lighting design), Gary Landis (sound design) and Dianne Vega (prop design). Hollingsworth makes her LASC directorial debut.

Performances are slated 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays (except Feb. 4).

Tickets are $20-$38.
