Peninsula Youth Theatre this weekend presents “Creepy Carrots,” the latest production in its Stories on Stage series at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts.

Dexter Fidler’s world premiere adaptation of the book by Aaron Reynolds is about carrot-consuming Jasper Rabbit, who fears his favorite treats are out to get him.

The cast of “Creepy Carrots” includes Lainey Barcomb, William Blackburn, Olivia Cobb, Spencer Cook, Cara Davidson, Emme Flannery, Josh Gefken, Julia Gentin, Eric Matsumoto, Sarah Mulzet, Ash Prodromou, Muskaan Sahiwal, Naomi Shanson, Shir Toledo and Ryan Vir. Katie O’Bryon Champlin directs.

Stories on Stage is a repertory company of some of PYT’s most experienced teen actors, who present children’s fiction, fairy tales and poetry, often in adaptations written especially for PYT. Aimed at young readers, the professionally directed shows are black-box productions with no-fuss staging that last 40 minutes.

Performances are scheduled 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday on the SecondStage at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.

Tickets are $10.
