The Peninsula Youth Theatre’s twist on “Cinderella” is scheduled to close this weekend at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, 500 Castro St.
The Mountain View-based PYT describes the production as an “irreverent and hysterical musical version” of the classic story, transforming it into a British pantomime. The fractured fairy tale features dancing mice, a sassy fairy, a Little Bo Peep who can’t keep track of her sheep and a wicked stepmother who may be looking to snag the prince herself.
Written by Kate Hawley, the play features music by Gregg Coffin.
Performances are slated 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. In addition, there are school shows set for 9:30 a.m. Thursday and Friday.
Tickets are $24 for general admission, $18 for seniors (over 62) and children (under 12), and $20 for groups of 10 or more. Tickets to the school shows are available only by phone.
