LAHS Color Run set for Saturday

Los Altos High’s fifth annual Color Run is scheduled 5 p.m. Saturday at the school, 201 Almond Ave. Participants in the family-friendly 5K run will be sprinkled with colored powder throughout the course. The Community Quad Festival – with bounce houses, games and obstacle courses – follows at 6 p.m. Registration is $30 for adults, $20 for LAHS students, $10 for kids 6-12 and free for ages 5 and under. MV scholarship apps due Friday evening

The Mountain View High School Sports Boosters Board will accept applications through 6 p.m. Friday for two $1,500 continuing education scholarships it will award to a male and female athlete. Applicants must be Mountain View seniors who have played two or more seasons of a sport (at least one on varsity) and have a GPA of 2.5 or above. An essay and a coach’s recommendation are required. LA girls enter De Anza meet as Top 8 champs

The SCVAL De Anza track and field trials and finals are scheduled this week at Los Altos High, where several Eagles hope to pick up where they left off before spring break.

The trials were slated Tuesday (after the Town Crier’s deadline) and the finals 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Mollerstedt honored at awards breakfast

Los Altos High’s Thea Mollerstedt was among 16 high school students recognized at the CCS Scholar-Athlete Awards Breakfast March 25. The honorees – nominated by their schools and put forth to their leagues for selection – each received a $500 scholarship for college. Mollerstedt, a senior, is a standout hurdler and sprinter on the Eagles’ track and field team.

MV seniors invited to apply for scholarship

The Mountain View High School Sports Boosters Board is accepting applications for a pair of $1,500 continuing education scholarships it plans to award to a male and female athlete next month. Eligible applicants must be Mountain View High seniors who have participated in two or more seasons of a sport (at least one on the varsity level) and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
