Local cross-country, tennis teams start seasons

Despite the absence of their top runner, the Los Altos High girls placed first at Saturday’s season-opening cross-country meet, while the shorthanded boys squad came in fourth among the 13 Santa Clara Valley Athletic League schools participating.

SFHS grad Brennan named coach of year

The Lombardi Foundation last week named San Jose State football coach Brent Brennan, a St. Francis High graduate, its 2020 College Football Coach of the Year.

CIF reversal: Students can play for club & high school, but not in SC County

Just weeks after the California Interscholastic Federation announced the reinstatement of bylaws prohibiting students from playing a high school and club sport at the same time, it has temporarily suspended them again.

SF grad Habibi-Likio chooses Boise State

St. Francis High graduate Cyrus Habibi-Likio announced via Twitter Feb. 3 that he is transferring to Boise State to continue his football career after three years at the University of Oregon.
