St. Francis honored for strength program
St. Francis High last month won a 2020 Strength of America Award, given to schools throughout the country with exemplary strength and conditioning programs.
Schools nominated for the awards, sponsored by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, are judged in four categories: supervision, education, program and facilities. Andrew Wun and Jake Siebert lead the Lancers’ strength and conditioning programs.
Tree lots support high school sports
The sports boosters clubs at the local high schools have launched their holiday tree lots. The Spartans Tree Lot, run by the Mountain View High School Sports Boosters, is online this year due to the pandemic. Order trees and accessories at spartanstreelot.com and they will be delivered, contact-free, to your home. Proceeds benefit Mountain View High athletics. The Los Altos High School Athletic Boosters Holiday Tree Lot has opened at its usual location: the parking lot at Chase Bank, 749 W. El Camino Real in Mountain View. The lot’s hours are 3:30-8 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends through Dec. 23. Proceeds support Los Altos High athletics.
