SF water polo players named All-Americans
Two spring graduates of St. Francis High last month were named 2019-20 Boys Water Polo All-Americans by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association. Berk Aksoy made the first team and Joe Gallagher was selected to the second team. Utility player Aksoy is bound for UC San Diego; goalie Gallagher, a Los Altos Hills resident, is headed to Brown University.
Johnson helps Nets make NBA playoffs
Mountain View native Tyler Johnson scored a season-high 21 points for the Brooklyn Nets in their 129-120 win over the Los Angeles Clippers Aug. 9 in Orlando. The St. Francis High graduate put up 16 points in Thursday night’s 134-133 loss to the Portland Trailblazers. Guard Johnson and the Nets have qualified for the NBA playoffs as the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference and face the No. 2 Toronto Raptors in a first-round series slated to start this week.
