Johnson scores 11 in debut for Nets
In his NBA return, St. Francis High graduate Tyler Johnson scored 11 points for the Brooklyn Nets in their loss to the Orlando Magic Friday. Johnson last played for the Phoenix Suns, who waived the guard in February. The Nets signed the Mountain View native in late June.
Pinewood players commit to colleges
Guards Annika Decker and Courtni Thompson, rising seniors on the Pinewood School girls basketball team, last month announced that they have committed to colleges. Decker is bound for Tufts University and Thompson is headed to UC San Diego. Decker and Thompson are the second and third Panthers to commit to colleges this year; center Maia Garcia, also a senior, announced in the spring that she will be going to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
