All-star football game features six locals

Six seniors from local schools were selected to play for the North in last month’s 46th annual Charlie Wedemeyer High School All-Star Football Game: Los Altos’ Brennan Hanley, Mountain View’s Andrew Bice and Cae Cox, and St. Francis’ Sean Miller, Joe Pilawski and Afa Sanft. The South defeated the North 33-14 Jan. 25 at Westmont.

Adult softball league welcomes players

The Vintage Softball Club of Santa Clara County, a slow-pitch league for men and women age 50 and over that includes Los Altos residents, seeks new members for 2020. Founded in 1987, the club offers year-round Saturday and weekday leagues – along with Monday nights in spring/summer – open to all skill levels. Some players are novices, most are intermediate and a few are in the Senior Softball Hall of Fame. A bat and glove are required. The annual membership fee is $50-$100. Girls softball camp set for this month

Spartans Sports Camp’s Girls Winter Softball Mini-Camp is slated 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Feb. 15 at Mountain View High. Open to girls in grades 3-8, the camp will stress fundamentals such as hitting, throwing and base-running. Cost is $60 for one session and $110 for both; scholarships are available.
