Local residents face off in softball Saturday

Residents of Los Altos and Los Altos Hills are encouraged to register for the second community softball game between the two cities, slated 1-3 p.m. Saturday. The coed game – meant as a friendly, cross-town rivalry competition – will take place at Rosita Park, 401 Rosita Ave., Los Altos. Participation is free and open to adult residents. Fall basketball camp tips off next month

Spartans Sports Camp’s Fall Basketball Camp is scheduled 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays in September and October (except Sept. 26) in the Mountain View High gym. The camp is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8. Registration is $395 for all seven Saturdays or $60 for one day; cost includes a T-shirt, water bottle and drawstring backpack. Mountain View Tennis offers summer classes

Mountain View Tennis’ summer recreation classes are scheduled through Aug. 30 at Cuesta, Rengstorff, Whisman, Cooper and Sylvan parks. Day and evening classes for all ages and skill levels are offered; fees vary. In addition, weekly summer tennis camps for ages 7-14 are slated at Cuesta Park. Registration still open for AYSO Region 43

Registration remains open for AYSO Region 43’s fall soccer season. The Los Altos-based region is for boys and girls born in 2006-2015. Students from Santa Rita, Covington, Almond, Gardner Bullis, Bullis Charter, Pinewood, St. Nicholas and Egan schools usually play in Region 43.
