SFHS graduate Stapes on NCAA DII finalist

St. Francis High graduate Noah Stapes this season played on the men’s basketball team at Point Loma Nazarene University, which reached the NCAA Division II final. The Sea Lions fell to Northwest Missouri State 64-58 in the March 30 title game. Stapes, a sophomore forward, saw action in 30 games off the bench for Point Loma (31-5 overall).

MV seniors invited to apply for scholarship

The Mountain View High School Sports Boosters Board is accepting applications for a pair of $1,500 continuing education scholarships it plans to award to a male and female athlete in May. Eligible applicants must be Mountain View High seniors who have participated in two or more seasons of a sport (at least one on varsity) and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Hills Pathways Run set for May 11

The 18th annual Los Altos Hills Pathways Run/Walk is slated May 11, starting at West-wind Community Barn, 27210 Altamont Road. The 5K and 10K runs begin at 9 a.m. and the 1-mile run at 10:30 a.m. Advance registration is $45 for the 5K or 10K ($35 for groups of 10 or more) and $30 for the fun run; race-day registration is an additional $5. Registration now open for hoops camp at LAHS

Los Altos Basketball Camp – directed by Los Altos High boys basketball coach Trevor Naas – is scheduled for two summer sessions: June 17-20 and June 24-27. Both run 9 a.m. to noon in the school gym. The camp is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8. Campers will be taught fundamental skills and participate in drills, competitions and games. Cost is $225 for one session or $400 for both.
