Scholarships available to MV student-athletes

The Mountain View High School Sports Boosters Board is accepting applications for a pair of $1,500 continuing education scholarships it plans to award to a male and female athlete next month. Eligible applicants must be Mountain View High seniors who have participated in two or more seasons of a sport (at least one on the varsity level) and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Hills pathways run planned for May 11

The 18th annual Los Altos Hills Pathways Run/Walk is slated May 11, starting at Westwind Community Barn, 27210 Altamont Road. The course runs through Byrne Preserve and extends into the Los Altos Hills Pathways system. The 5K and 10K runs begin at 9 a.m. and the 1-mile run at 10:30 a.m. Advance registration is $45 for the 5K or 10K ($35 for groups of 10 or more) and $30 for the fun run; race-day registration is an additional $5. Spring sports camps set for next week

Spartans Sports Camp’s Spring Break Camps are scheduled Monday through April 19 at Mountain View High. The multisport, basketball and tennis camps are coed; full- and half-day options are available. The multisport camp is open to students in grades 1-7, and the basketball and tennis camps are offered to those in grades 3-8. Registration ranges from a $65 daily rate to $399 for the week. Registration now open for hoops camp at LAHS

Los Altos Basketball Camp – directed by Los Altos High boys basketball head coach Trevor Naas – is scheduled for two sessions this summer: June 17-20 and June 24-27. Both sessions run 9 a.m. to noon in the school’s main gym. The camp is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8. Campers will be taught fundamental skills of the game and participate in a variety of drills, competitions and games. Cost is $225 for one session, $400 for both. Scholarships are available.
