LA grads help college reach hoops playoffs
Los Altos High graduates Daniel Rosenbaum and Matt Eberle were part of the Pomona-Pitzer men’s basketball team that reached the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament this month. The 11th-seeded Sagehens routed Texas-Dallas 58-37 before falling to No. 2 Whitman 83-74 March 2. Senior guard Rosenbaum, who scored 20 points in the loss, was named First Team All-West by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for his play this season. Eberle, a freshman forward, played in 19 games off the bench.
MV Sports Boosters host golf tournament
The Mountain View High School Sports Boosters second golf tournament is slated April 6 at Shoreline Golf Links. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the shotgun start is at noon. Registration is $150 for adults and $100 for students; cost includes gift bag, food and drinks. Proceeds benefit Mountain View High athletics. Spring break camps start next month
Spartans Sports Camp’s Spring Break Camps are scheduled April 15-19 at Mountain View High. The multisport, basketball and tennis camps are coed; full- and half-day options are available. The multisport camp is open to students in grades 1-7, and the basketball and tennis camps are offered to those in grades 3-8. Registration ranges from a $65 daily rate to $399 for the week. City of Mountain View offers open gym
The Mountain View Recreation Division’s Teen Open Gym, free and open to the city’s middle and high school students, is scheduled 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturdays at the Whisman Sports Center, 1500 Middlefield Road. Participants must show student IDs. For more information, call 903-6331.
