Foothill alum bound for Bay Area HOF

Former pro tennis player Brad Gilbert, who played at Foothill College in the early 1980s, is scheduled to be inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame May 2 in San Francisco. Gilbert won the California Junior College Singles Championship in 1981 and joined the pro tour the next year. Local AYS0 kicks off spring soccer sign-ups

Registration is open for Los Altos-based AYSO Region 43’s spring soccer season for boys and girls ages 5-8. Weekly sessions are scheduled Sunday afternoons through May 4 at Rosita Park, where participants will play games and do drills. Students from Santa Rita, Covington, Almond, Gardner Bullis, Bullis Charter, Pinewood and St. Nicholas schools usually play in Region 43.
