Los Altos grad shines as Georgetown diver
Los Altos High graduate Riley Fujioka (Class of 2017) was named Big East Diver of the Week last month. During the week of Jan. 14-20, the Georgetown University sophomore won the 1- and 3-meter women's diving events versus Drexel with career-high scores of 282.07 and 293.93, respectively.
Local water polo club opens youth sign-ups
Registration for NorCal Aquatics’ spring session of youth water polo is now open. For boys and girls ages 8-14, the session is slated to run Feb. 25 through May 1 at Los Altos High. Practices are scheduled 6-8 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; youth league games are set for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 9, March 30, April 6 and April 27. Little League sign-ups for spring season start
Registration for the 2019 Los Altos & Los Altos Hills Little League spring season is now open. The league offers baseball (open to boys and girls ages 5-14) and softball (girls grades K-3) leagues. The season begins in March. To register and for more information, visit losaltoslittleleague.com.
Registration begins for softball league
The city of Mountain View’s adult softball league is scheduled to begin the week of March 11 on the Shoreline Athletic Fields at 2450 Garcia Ave. Divisions include Coed Recreational (Monday), Coed Intermediate (Tuesday), Men’s C/D Intermediate (Wednesday) and Men’s D Recreational (Thursday). Game times rotate weekly between 6:30, 7:45 and 9 p.m. Cost is $725 per team, plus $12.50 per nonresident player. To register and for more information, visit mountainview.gov/softball.
Winter basketball camp set for MVHS in Feb.
Spartans Sports Camp’s Winter Break Basketball camp is scheduled 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 18-22 at Mountain View High School, 3535 Truman Ave. The camp, open to boys and girls in grades 3-8, focuses on shooting, ball-handling and defense.
