Meet spring coaches at MVHS Jan. 23

Mountain View High’s parent/coach information meeting for the spring sports season is scheduled 6:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 23 in the school’s Spartan Theater. The event is an opportunity for parents to meet the coaches and ask them questions. Discussion topics will include participation requirements, specifically sports physicals and registration. MROSD hosts hike at Rancho San Antonio

The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District’s Scenic Aerobic Hike I is scheduled 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve, which borders Los Altos and Cupertino. Docents Huey-Shin Yuan, Mary Brunkhorst and Fran Keeler are slated to lead the 4- to 6-mile moderately paced hike on some of Rancho’s many trails. There is no fee to participate. Little League sign-ups for spring season start

Registration for the 2019 Los Altos & Los Altos Hills Little League spring season is now open. The league offers baseball (open to boys and girls ages 5-14) and softball (girls grades K-3) leagues. City of Mtn. View offers open gym

The Mountain View Recreation Division’s Teen Open Gym, free and open to the city’s middle and high school students, is scheduled 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturdays at the Whisman Sports Center, 1500 Middlefield Road. The weekly events offer youth a place to play basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer. Participants are required to show their student IDs at the door. For more information, call 903-6331.
