Local golfers, runners make the grade

The girls golf teams from Mountain View and Los Altos highs, along with the Los Altos girls cross-county team, have won Central Coast Section 2018-2019 Fall Season Scholastic Championship Team Awards for their work in the classroom. Instituted by the CCS in 1985, the awards recognize the top five varsity teams from each CCS sport with the highest collective grade-point average among the teams competing in that sport. The Spartans had the highest GPA (3.8032) among girls golf teams and the Eagles were fourth (3.7100). The Los Altos cross-county team was fourth (3.7946) in its sport.

Los Altos High seeks boys lacrosse coach

City of Mtn. View offers open gym

The Mountain View Recreation Division’s Teen Open Gym, free and open to the city’s middle and high school students, is slated 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturdays at the Whisman Sports Center, 1500 Middlefield Road. The weekly events offer youth a place to play basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer. Participants must show a student ID at the door. For more information, call 903-6331.

Women’s golf group invites new members
