MV lacrosse coach enters NorCal HOF

Mountain View High boys lacrosse coach Bill Kurz has been selected for the NorCal Lacrosse Hall of Fame. He will be inducted at a ceremony slated 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Olympic Club in San Francisco. Along with his 43 years of coaching the sport at the youth, high school and college levels, Kurz has served as president of the Palo Alto Lacrosse Club and as a member of the Northern California Lacrosse Association board and founded the Palo Alto Tomahawks Youth Lacrosse Club. As a player, Kurz was named an NCLA All-Star four times. Tickets to the induction dinner are $135. For tickets and more information, visit

City of Mtn. View offers open gym

The Mountain View Recreation Division’s Teen Open Gym, free and open to the city’s middle and high school students, is slated 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturdays at the Whisman Sports Center, 1500 Middlefield Road.
