Tennis classes start Feb. 24 in Mtn. View

Mountain View Tennis’ spring recreation classes are scheduled to start Feb. 24 at Cuesta, Rengstorff, Whisman and Cooper parks. Wellness run/walk scheduled March 10

The seventh annual Girls to Women Margaret Geis Wright Wellness 5K Run/Walk is slated March 10 at Shoreline Park in Mountain View. Billed as a community-building event, it supports the nonprofit Girls to Women, a grassroots organization that serves upwards of 60 girls a year with intensive, individualized school-year and summer enrichment programs. Registration is $10-$40 (depending on age and residency), free for ages 5 and under. MVHS hosts hoops camp next month

Spartans Sports Camp’s Winter Break Basketball camp is scheduled 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 19-23 at Mountain View High, 3535 Truman Ave. Open to boys and girls in grades 3-8, the fast-paced camp focuses on shooting, ball handling and defense. Cost is $65 per day or $285 for the entire week and includes a custom basketball, T-shirt, water bottle, and drawstring backpack. Scholarships are available.
