Hills’ Boissiere trains with national team
Los Altos Hills native Jaye Boissiere – a redshirt sophomore on Stanford University’s women’s soccer team – was invited to the U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Team’s first training camp of the year, held Jan. 4-11 in Carson. The midfielder scored the decisive goal in the Cardinal’s 3-2 win over UCLA in the national title game last month.
MVHS hosts hoops camp next month
Spartans Sports Camp’s Winter Break Basketball camp is scheduled 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 19-23 at Mountain View High, 3535 Truman Ave. Open to boys and girls in grades 3-8, the fast-paced camp focuses on shooting, ball handling and defense. Cost is $65 per day, or $285 for the entire week. Scholarships are available. Proceeds benefit Mountain View High athletics. City of Mountain View offers open gym
The Mountain View Recreation Division’s Teen Open Gym, free and open to the city’s middle and high school students, is scheduled 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturdays at the Whisman Sports Center, 1500 Middlefield Road.
