Tree lot supports Los Altos High sports

The Los Altos High Tree Lot, which raises money for the school’s sports programs, opened last weekend in Mountain View. Last year, the lot raised nearly $20,000 for Los Altos High’s sports programs, according to organizer Jerry Sorensen. The lot is open 4-8 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekends in the parking lot at Chase Bank, 749 W. El Camino Real, which is near Castro St. For more information, visit

MV quidditch team welcomes players

The Silicon Valley Skrewts, Northern California’s first adult community quidditch team, welcomes new players. Quidditch is a full-contact, gender-integrated sport.
