Mtn. View’s Martin commits to Carroll

Cam Martin, a spring graduate of Mountain View High, recently committed to play soccer at Carroll College in Montana. A two-time team MVP for the Spartans, defender Martin also served as captain his junior and senior seasons. Carroll coach Doug Mello said in a press release that “Cam will be an immediate contributor” and “has all the tools necessary to be a major player in the Cascade (Conference).”

Sports camp under way at MV High

Spartans Sports Camp, run by Mountain View High coaches and student-athletes, has scheduled its summer program through July 28 on the school campus. The nonprofit camp offers multisport, weeklong sessions for boys and girls in grades 2-7, sport-specific sessions for grades 2-9, color guard camp for grades 3-9 and cheerleading camp for grades pre-K-8. Pathways golf tourney set for end of month

Pathways Home Health & Hospice has scheduled its fifth annual Links to the Heart Golf Tournament July 31 at Los Altos Golf & Country Club. The event, benefiting the nonprofit Pathways, includes a round of golf with contest and prizes, lunch, on-course refreshments and dinner. AYSO Region 43 kicks off sign-ups

Registration is open for AYSO Region 43’s fall soccer season. The Los Altos-based region is for boys and girls in grades K-12 who live near Los Altos High, Egan, Santa Rita, Covington, Almond, Gardner Bullis, Bullis Charter, Pinewood and St. Nicholas schools. City of Mountain View offers open gym

The Mountain View Recreation Division’s Teen Open Gym, free and open to the city’s middle and high school students, is scheduled 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturdays at the Whisman Sports Center, 1500 Middlefield Road. The weekly events offer youth a place to play basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer. Participants must show a student ID at the door. For more information, call 903-6331.

Women’s golf group welcomes new members
