Gradiska nets 2 wins
Los Altos native Laura Gradiska helped lead the Gettysburg College women’s tennis team to a 7-2 rout of visiting Messiah College Sept. 21. The senior won at No. 2 singles and at the top doubles spot with partner Maria Martinovic. Gradiska is a Menlo School graduate.
Pumpkins for sports
The Los Altos High School Athletic Boosters Pumpkin Patch is scheduled to be open noon to 7 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends Oct. 7-31 in the student parking lot, 201 Almond Ave. Proceeds benefit Los Altos High sports.

The Spartans Fall Basketball Camp is underway at Mountain View High. Led by Mountain View coaches and alumni, the camp is open to boys and girls in grades 3-8. It focuses on shooting, ball-handling and defense. Remaining sessions are scheduled 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 8, 22 and 29 in the school gym. Cost is $55 per session. MV offers open gym
The Mountain View Recreation Division’s Teen Open Gym – which is free and open to the city’s middle and high school students – is scheduled 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturdays at the Whisman Sports Center, 1500 Middlefield Road. The weekly events offer youth a place to play basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer. Participants are required to show their student IDs at the door. For more information, call 903-6331.
