Los Altos native Lauren Kim secured Ladies Professional Golf Association membership for next year by placing among the top 45 golfers in the inaugural LPGA Q-Series that concluded Nov. 3 at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
Kim tied for 23rd in the series, which featured a 144-stroke play format over two four-day tournaments.
A 2017 LPGA Tour rookie, the 24-year-old Kim is a graduate of Los Altos High and Stanford University, where she starred on the golf team.
Kim began the 2018 season on the developmental Symetra Tour, making the cut in all seven events she entered. She won the season-opening Florida’s Natural Charity Classic last March.
