Mountain View High graduate Brielle Rowe this season coached the throwers on the Homestead High track and field team, including Central Coast Section girls discus champion Miranda Zinola.

With a throw of 127 feet, 10 inches, Zinola edged Mountain View’s Sinai Fatafehi (126-11) for first place at last month’s meet in Gilroy.

Rowe was the CCS discus champ in 2011 and 2012. The next four years, the Los Altos native competed in the discus, shot put and hammer at Princeton University.

Rowe heads to law school at the University of Virginia in the fall.
