Harris leads Spartans to victory over Leigh

Natasha Harris recorded two goals and an assist in Mountain View’s 3-0 win at Leigh last week.

Natasha Harris had a hand – well, technically, a foot – in every goal as the Mountain View High girls soccer team blanked Leigh 3-0 last week.

The senior forward scored twice and assisted on Allie Coyne’s goal in the Dec. 12 non-league game. Laura Carceroni and Karissa Hayes assisted on Harris’ goals.

The Spartans are a targeted team – and they know it.

It comes with the territory after all the success the Mountain View High girls soccer squad has enjoyed in recent seasons.

Coach gets a kick out of Spartans

Now in his 28th season as Mountain View High’s boys soccer coach, Jim McGuirk has seen it all. He’s worked with good teams that weren’t a joy to coach and bad ones that were.

This year, he seems to have the best of both worlds.

St. Francis hires Alberico to coach boys soccer team

Longtime club coach Seth Alberico was recently appointed head coach of the St. Francis High varsity boys soccer team, which kicks off its season this week.

Hired in October, Alberico has been a coach with the Mountain View Los Altos Soccer Club for 12 years. He has coached more than 40 players who have gone on to play at the college level.
