A year ago, Luke Enthoven would have been no more than a spectator at the annual rivalry game between the Los Altos and Mountain View boys basketball teams. This year, he played a leading role in the Eagles’ 65-56 win over the Spartans.

Returning to the team after a two-year hoops hiatus, Enthoven scored a game-high 20 points in Saturday’s non-league contest.

The Pinewood School girls basketball team routed rival Woodside Priory 68-51 Friday night, yet the Panthers were far from satisfied with their performance. It wasn’t good enough for a squad with championship aspirations.

“Honestly, I think we could have played a lot better,” Pinewood senior Akayla Hackson said. “I think we shot 26 percent from the 3-point line – not the best – and also shot poorly from the 2s.”
