The Pinewood School football team captured its first league title since 2011 – and second overall – with a 68-66 overtime win at rival Woodside Priory Friday.
The Panthers rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit to take the lead, only to see Priory tie the contest in the final minute of regulation. Quarterback Jaedan Bailey’s 10-yard pass to Marcus Fox put Pinewood ahead in overtime, and the two-point conversion proved to be the difference, as Priory’s attempt failed after its touchdown in OT.
Bailey tossed five TD passes for the Panthers, who went 4-0 in the Mission Trail Athletic League and 6-1 overall.
