Union Presbyterian hosts Christmas activities

The Rev. David Moore is distracted from the job of Christmas decorating at Union Presbyterian Church of Los Altos by his daughter Daisy, who arrived just in time for the holidays.

Local residents who enjoy Christmas food, music and worship will find plenty of opportunities to celebrate at Union Presbyterian Church of Los Altos this holiday season.

The church is celebrating the addition of a new member to the congregation – Daisy Moore, daughter of the Rev. David Moore and his wife, Kaidi. Daisy arrived Nov. 15, weighing in at 8 pounds 2 ounces. Pastor Moore also serves on the Los Altos Historical Commission.

Christmas events at the church include:

• Christmas Cookie Decorating Party, 12:30-2 p.m. Dec. 15 in Bailey Fellowship Hall.

• Christmas Cantata, “Celebrate the Gift,” 10:30 a.m. Dec. 22. The Union Presbyterian choir will present a service of Christmas music old and new in the church sanctuary. A reception will follow the concert.

• Christmas Eve Worship Service, 9 p.m. Dec. 24. The service is open to all.

Union Presbyterian Church, one of the oldest churches in Los Altos, began holding services downtown in the early 1900s. Worship continued in 1914 at the Little Brown Church on San Antonio Road, until the church moved to its present site at 858 University Ave. in 1957.
