Living Harmony Concert Series brings innovative musicians to Christ Episcopal Church

The new season of the Living Harmony Concert Series is underway at Christ Episcopal Church, 1040 Border Road, Los Altos.

Concerts will feature musicians from England, Spain and Scotland performing alongside local artists, including Spanish Brass, classical guitarist Paul Galbraith, vocal ensemble Convivium and a holiday program by harpists from the American Harp Society.

Living Harmony was founded in 2018 by the church’s Rev. Claire Dietrich Ranna and music director Eric Tuan. When Ranna first arrived at Christ Episcopal Church in 2017, she and Tuan were drawn together by a shared passion for music and have made the arts central to the parish’s engagement in Los Altos and beyond.

“As a community of faith in the heart of Silicon Valley, we’re mindful of the profound way that beauty and the arts allow people to encounter the sacred in our midst, no matter their religious or spiritual inclinations,” Ranna said. “Music also strengthens relationships and helps us to see the world from new perspectives.”

Ranna added that they hope bringing “such talented musicians to our city, and collaborating on other innovative programming, will encourage experiences of the transcendent and enhance the quality of our community.”

Living Harmony’s partnership with Lisa Sapinkopf Artists has enabled the series to offer an array of international artists.

“Experiencing the thrill of live musical performance is truly a transformative experience,” said Tuan, now in his seventh year at Christ Episcopal. “Especially in a time when we absorb most of our music through streaming and download services, there is something unique about hearing musicians at the top of their field give their all directly in front of you, and to be part of the give-and-take of the concert experience. It’s a delight to bring singers and instrumentalists from all over the world to Silicon Valley to share their craft with us.”

Tickets are $35 general admission, $25 seniors and $20 youth.
