LAUMC raises funds with Alzheimer’s walk
A team from Los Altos United Methodist Church is scheduled to participate in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s 9:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 21 in San Francisco.
The team’s goal is to raise $100,000 to advance research to treat and prevent Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and provide programs to improve the lives of millions of affected Americans.
According to the Alzheimer’s Association, an estimated 5.2 million Americans of all ages suffer from Alzheimer’s. Among the top 10 causes of death in the U.S., Alzheimer’s is the only disease without a way to prevent, cure or slow its progression.
