Derek Fenner, Arts Learning program manager at the Alameda County Office of Education, will discuss the power of the arts in helping youth express themselves. Fenner will help parents understand “adultism,” or discrimination against young people simply because of their age, and how they can empower their children to be critical thinkers. Participants will learn to implement art-centered educational strategies with their children to support their growth and build deeper connections.
