Elephant fundraiser collects nearly $2K
Eighth-grader Uma Chirotarrab raised nearly $2,000 to help save elephants at risk of poaching in Africa.
The Egan Junior High School student collected $1,910.32 for Tusk, a charity focused on African wildlife conservation, through an all-day fundraiser Dec. 14 in downtown Los Altos.
This was Uma’s fifth year in a row organizing the fundraiser. She and a group of friends set up tables downtown and educated passersby on the plight of the elephants.
