Foothill College fall registration is open, with classes beginning Sept. 23.
First-time, full-time students (12 units or more) are eligible for two years of free tuition, fees and textbooks through the Foothill College Promise program.

Yew Chung school hosts Moon Festival
Yew Chung International School is slated to host its annual Moon Festival 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 14 on the school’s K-8 campus, 310 Easy St., Mountain View.
The free event will include traditional Chinese food, games, stories and activities.
Foothill’s KCI seeks innovative educators
Foothill College’s Krause Center for Innovation is recruiting for its chief innovation officer program.
The next CIO program cohort begins Monday and “equips educators to guide the educational and technological planning process for their districts and develop and maintain 21st-century learning environments,” according to a press release from the college.
The seven-month, 27-unit program launched in the summer of 2018 with a group of 17 educators.
Applicants should have at least five years of teaching experience and a demonstrated track record of integrating technology into instruction. Candidates must be willing to commit to attending class Friday evening and all day Saturday once a month in addition to completing online coursework.
Montclaire serves as e-waste drop-off site
Montclaire Elementary School’s annual free fall e-waste collection event is scheduled 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 15 at the school, 1160 St. Joseph Ave., Los Altos.
Accepted items include electronics, phones, wires, cables, TVs, laptops, desktops, CDs, DVDs, printers, monitors, batteries and small household appliances. Scrap metal and large appliances are not permitted.
Proceeds will benefit the Montclaire Parent-Teacher Organization.
Mentor Tutor Connection hosts information session
Mentor Tutor Connection is slated to host a volunteer information session noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the El Camino YMCA, 2400 Grant Road, Mountain View.
Volunteers tutor K-8 students and mentor high schoolers in Mountain View and Los Altos schools.
All volunteers must be high school graduates.
