BCS K-3 students stage ‘Wizard of Oz’
Bullis Charter School’s production of “The Wizard of Oz” is scheduled 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with a Saturday matinee set for 2 p.m., in the school’s north campus multipurpose room, 102 W. Portola Ave., Los Altos.
Students in grades K-3 star in the classic play, which follows Dorothy and her dog Toto on their journey through the magical land of Oz.
Tickets – $10 for adults, $5 for children – will be available at the door beginning 30 minutes before showtime.
Volunteers needed for Egan Viking Showcase
Egan Junior High School seeks volunteers for its annual Egan Viking Showcase, scheduled June 6 on campus.
At the event, eighth-graders showcase achievements from their years at Egan during personal interviews with community volunteers.
More than 200 volunteers are needed. Volunteering requires a two-hour commitment and involves reviewing student portfolios, listening to students present their materials, asking questions, providing feedback and writing brief notes afterward.
Scholarship fund helps low-income students
The Vipin Agrawal Memorial Scholarship Fund offers two $1,000 scholarships to qualifying high school seniors, an effort to promote diversity in the computer science industry.
To qualify, applicants must:
• Attend a California high school and plan to attend a public California college.
• Plan to pursue an undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field.
• Have parents who immigrated to the United States.
• Have an annual household income of under $50,000.
• Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above.
The deadline to apply is June 30.
