Living Classroom seeks volunteer docents
The Living Classroom program is recruiting volunteer docents to help deliver hands-on garden-based lessons to students in the Los Altos School District.
Training sessions are scheduled 9 a.m. to noon Monday and Dec. 11 and Jan. 8 and 22 in the district’s iLearn Studio, 201 Covington Road. Apprentice-style training is available for those who can’t make the training sessions.
No experience is necessary.
MVHS hosts holiday sing-along fundraiser
The Mountain View High School wind ensemble has scheduled a Holiday Sing-along Concert fundraiser 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the school, 3535 Truman Ave.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children. Admission includes a songbook and refreshments during intermission.
Proceeds benefit the Instrumental Music Parent Association and Mountain View High’s instrumental music program.

Waldorf School sponsors Holiday Faire
Waldorf School of the Peninsula has scheduled its annual Holiday Faire 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at its Los Altos campus, 11311 Mora Drive.
The event will feature activities such as beeswax candle dipping, wreath making and handicraft workshops for all ages. Items available for purchase will include more than 10,000 unique toys and handicrafts. Oaxacan Kitchen will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

CSMA presents student art show
The Community School of Music and Arts has scheduled its fall exhibition of student art, “Picture This,” Dec. 9 through Jan. 18 in CSMA’s Mohr Gallery, 230 San Antonio Circle, Mountain View.
An opening reception is slated 3-5 p.m. Dec. 9 at the gallery.
“Picture This” will showcase the work of CSMA students from the Art4Schools program and on-site classes. CSMA directly serves more than 24,000 people through on-site and off-site programs each year
Admission to the exhibition is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sundays.

MVLA Speaker Series features neuropsychiatrist
Neuropsychiatrist Dan Siegel, M.D., is scheduled to discuss “The Power and Purpose of the Developing Brain: Turning Conflict into Connection” 7 p.m. Jan. 11 in Los Altos High’s Eagle Theater, 201 Almond Ave.
Siegel’s presentation is part of the MVLA Parent Education Speaker Series.
