LAPP bids adieu to their Los Altos High home

The Los Altos Parent Preschool (LAPP), a 57-year-old cooperative preschool, has scheduled an Ice Cream Social 2-4:30 p.m. Sunday at its 12-year home at Los Altos High School, 122 Almond Ave.

All families, members and alumni are invited to celebrate at the campus one last time before LAPP moves to its new location at Covington School, 201 Covington Road, in mid-June.

Banish the Dogs will liven the event with their traditional Celtic music while families enjoy ice-cream sundaes. There will be a jumpy house, playground play and tile painting to entertain the children and commemorative T-shirts.

There is a suggested donation of $25 per family.

The annual LAPP Spring Sing last month featured 3, 4 and 5 year olds, led by their teachers, to rousing renditions of “The Wheels on the Bus,” “The Elephant Song” and a dramatic portrayal of “Don’t let the Pigeon Drive the Bus.”

Director/teachers Janet Kolstad and Kerry Moore, teacher Jean Gasperini, Transition Chairwoman Dara Gray Tynefield and the transition committee received thanks for their efforts in securing a new location and development of the new site. Board President Jen Tyler was honored for multiple years of service.

LAPP is accepting applications for the 2011-12 school year. Interested families are encouraged to register early as space is limited.
