Martha J. Kanter, president of De Anza Community College, will deliver a lecture at 4 p.m. Sunday, in the Albert L Schultz Jewish Community Center, 655 Arastadero Road, in Palo Alto.
The topic of Kanter's forthcoming lecture will be "Higher Education at the Crossroads: Where do we go from here?"
Kanter is a noted educational leader in the Silicon Valley and will examine both the opportunities and challenges posed by today's technological revolution and its impact on the changing demographics of California.

Underground open for fun
The Underground, a teen center run by the Los Altos Recreation Department, will be open four-to-five days this summer. The Underground is located in the basement of the Garden House at Shoup Park, 400 University Ave.
The center is open to all students in grades 7-12 during the 1997-98 school year.
The center features pool tables, ping-pong tables, a foosball table, computers, cable TV, organized games, movie nights, tournaments, refreshments and an area to lounge around. Admission is free.
