After receiving a Fulbright award this spring, Los Altos Hills native Morgan Healy will be off to Brazil next year to continue her teaching and research.
Healy, who graduated from Boston College this year with a bachelor’s degree in education, will work as an English teaching assistant in Brazil. Upon her return to the U.S., she plans to attend Harvard University for a master’s in education.
Fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese, Healy has taught English to adults and reading to fifth-graders and has mentored high school students in the College Bound program.
Healy is an alumna of St. Francis High School.
The Fulbright, an international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government, selects recipients on the basis of their academic prowess and capacity to serve as cultural ambassadors for the U.S. The Fulbright program funds teaching assistantships, study and research in more than 160 countries.
