Mountain View High created a 3-D violin, above, for the concert. The violin is one of four instruments printed on a 3-D printer.

Mountain View High School’s spring concert, featuring four instruments printed on a 3-D printer, is scheduled 7 p.m. today in the school’s Spartan Theater, 3535 Truman Ave.

The Mountain View-Los Altos High School Foundation funded the 3-D fabrication of four string instruments with $1,000, according to Jason Kneebone, Mountain View High music director. Kneebone noted that using 3-D printers fully customizes musical instruments to the players’ aesthetic tastes and physical characteristics.

Tickets, available at door, are $10 general admission, $5 students and seniors.
