MVLA community to weigh in on facilities at meeting today

Parents, students and teachers in the Mountain View Los Altos Union High School District can weigh in on the district’s still-developing Facilities Master Plan at a public meeting scheduled 3:30 p.m. today at Los Altos High School, Room 507, 201 Almond Ave.

A second meeting is slated 3 p.m. May 24 in the College and Career Center at Mountain View High, 3535 Truman Ave.

According to Associate Superintendent Mike Mathiesen, the district is currently putting the final touches on the Facilities Master Plan’s education specifications document, a 99-page report that aims to capture the educational needs of the district.

The next step, Mathiesen said, is to “pull out a map,” review existing district facilities, and strategize how to meet those needs – including, notably, how to accommodate rising enrollment.
