Pinewood School’s Visual and Performing Arts Department has scheduled “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” Thursday through Saturday.

“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” nominated for six Tony Awards in 2005, is a musical comedy by Rebecca Feldman that follows six young people in the throes of puberty as they learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser.

At each performance, four audience volunteers are selected and invited on stage to participate in the spelling bee, making each performance unique.

Performances are slated 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday at the Pinewood School Theatre on the school’s Upper Campus, 26800 Fremont Road in Los Altos Hills.

Tickets – $12 general admission, $7 students – are available at the door or can be purchased online at www.pinewoodarts.com.
