Los Altos man charged with assault, elder abuse

An elderly man remains hospitalized after allegedly being attacked at home by his son Nov. 12, according to Los Altos Police, who apprehended 52-year-old Amir Imanian (pictured) later that day.    Detective Abe Velasco said police at 7:30 a.m. received a report of battery with bodily injury on an elderly male at a home on the 300 block of Juanita Way. The 92-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to Velasco.
The suspect fled by the time police arrived at the home, Velasco said, but returned that evening and was arrested without incident. Both parties live at the residence, according to Velasco.
Imanian has been charged with assault and battery with great bodily injury, elder abuse and criminal threats, Velasco said, and remains in the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
